As the White Dew season ushers in the early autumn, the School of Finance at Nankai University warmly welcomed 248 master’s students and 25 doctoral students of the Class of 2024, marking the start of a new journey.

The registration began at 8 a.m. Faculty members, graduate program coordinators, and student volunteers worked in an orderly manner, assisting newcomers through document verification, system registration, and materials distribution. Volunteers enthusiastically helped carry luggage, answered questions, and handed out college T-shirts and custom-designed gifts. Through “Party Member Pioneer Posts” and “Volunteer Service Posts,” the school ensured that every new student felt well-supported from the moment they arrived.

To celebrate this special day, the School designed a series of meaningful activities. At the “Hello, New Student” name board in front of the Finance Building, each newcomer received a personalized name tag and placed it on the display, symbolizing their official entry into the Nankai Finance family. Students and parents posed for photos with banners reading “Here I am, Nankai Finance!” and “A New Journey of Finance,” capturing the joy of this milestone moment.

Popular photo spots — including cutouts of mascots Xiao Jin and Xiao Rong and 3D “I ♥ Nankai Finance” installations — became favorite places for students and families to commemorate the day. At the “Dream and Grow” corner, organized by the School’s Psychological Counseling Station and “Garden of the Heart” area, students received small potted plants and seeds, wrote down their wishes for the years ahead on wind-chime cards, and hung them along the “Timeline of Hope.”

The “Golden Imprint” stamp activity and the “Reading Finance” book corner also attracted much attention. Books such as A Great River recommended by President of Nankai University Chen Yulu and Finance and the Good Society recommended by Dean Fan Xiaoyun encouraged students to broaden their horizons and embrace academic rigor.

With talent gathering and spirits rising, Nankai Finance stands ready to begin a new chapter. In the coming semester, the School will continue to offer diverse orientation and educational activities to help students adapt smoothly to graduate life and pursue excellence in their academic and personal development.
