Recently, the 7th Tianjin Higher Education Psychological Committee Skills Competition of 2023 was successfully held at the Tian Jiabing Music Hall of Nankai University, where Feng Yiting, a psychological committee member of the School of Finance, won third prize.

The competition consisted of two stages: preliminaries and finals. The preliminaries, which began on October 19, 2023, took the form of a written test on psychology knowledge related to the work of psychological committee members, aiming to assess the contestants’ foundational knowledge. The contestants were composed of 100 psychological committee members from 50 universities across Tianjin. Based on the written test results, 11 contestants advanced to the finals. Feng Yiting achieved first place among Nankai University contestants in the preliminary round and successfully advanced to the finals.

The finals comprised four elimination rounds: talent show, “Heart to Heart” - psychological theme popularization speech, “Quick Response” - psychological knowledge quiz, and “Heartfelt Dialogue” - psychological committee work simulation. These rounds aimed to evaluate the contestants’ comprehensive professional skills as psychological committee members. In the “Heart to Heart” - psychological theme popularization speech round, contestants were given a scenario before going on stage and had to use their professional knowledge and unique storytelling skills to deliver a three-minute psychological popularization speech to the judges and audience, showcasing their clear expression abilities. Despite being the first contestant to present, Feng Yiting overcame her nervousness and anxiety, achieving first place in the psychological knowledge popularization speech and advancing to the second round, “Quick Response” - psychological knowledge quiz. In the intense atmosphere of the quiz, Feng Yiting remained calm and composed, demonstrating her profound knowledge and quick reflexes. Ultimately, she won third prize in this psychological committee skills competition.

The 7th Tianjin Higher Education Psychological Committee Skills Competition has drawn a successful conclusion. Feng Yiting stated that this competition was a valuable opportunity. It not only enhanced her knowledge related to psychological committee work but also prepared herself with practical psychological experience. Meanwhile, she could compete with and learn from psychological committee members from other universities, laying a more solid foundation for her future work as a psychological committee member.

The School of Finance will continue to leverage its secondary psychological counseling center to provide ongoing training and skill enhancement for psychological committee members and heart guardians, aiming to make peer psychological support more professional and standardized. This effort is to cultivate a reliable, trustworthy, and dependable team of psychological guardians.
