On December 12, the Nankai-Yide Debate Team, jointly organized by the School of Finance at Nankai University and Yide Futures Co., Ltd., won the runner-up in the finals of the “CFFEX Cup” National University Financial and Business Debate Invitational. Nankai University received the Best Organization Award, Professor Li Zeguang and Associate Professor Wang Daoping of the School of Finance won the Best Advisor Award, and Jiang Qian, Lv Liangwei, and Li Jianhui won the Best Debater Award. The cooperating organization, Yide Futures Co., Ltd., received the Excellent Organization Award.
This “CFFEX Cup” Debate Invitational was guided by the Futures Supervision Department and the Youth League Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), hosted by the China Financial Futures Exchange, the China Futures Association, and the Hunan Securities Regulatory Bureau, and co-hosted by securities regulatory bureaus in Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Dalian, and Xiamen. The Nankai-Yide Debate Team, consisting of undergraduates Zheng Hong, Li Jianhui, Shu Qianran, and Liang Lei from the School of Finance, master’s students Jiang Qian and Liu Jinhang from the School of Electronic Information and Optical Engineering, master’s student Lv Liangwei from the Zhou Enlai School of Government, and undergraduate Guo Zhewei from the School of Economics, secured the runner-up position after several rounds of intense competition. On stage, the debaters demonstrated quick thinking, sharp language, and expertly applied professional financial knowledge, constructing rigorous logical arguments with extensive citations and data evidence. Their performance garnered unanimous praise from the judges and the audience. Ning Hua, Fourth-Level Researcher from the Tianjin Securities Regulatory Bureau, Zhao Weixia, President of the Tianjin Futures Association and Deputy General Manager of Yide Futures, Chen Liang, General Manager of the Human Resources Department at Yide Futures, Chen Chang, Senior Analyst in the Options Department, and Liu Lanbiao, Li Zeguang, Wang Daoping, and Tang Lin from the School of Finance at Nankai University accompanied the team and provided guidance.
During the competition, Associate Dean Liu Lanbiao also attended a symposium on “Collaborative Efforts to Promote Investor Education into the National Education System,” where he introduced the progress of collaborative course development between Nankai University’s School of Finance and the China Financial Futures Exchange. He engaged in in-depth discussions with experts from regulatory and financial institutions on how to strengthen industry-education integration between universities, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions, and establish a long-term mechanism for collaborative investor education.
This invitational aimed to further implement the “Memorandum of Cooperation on Strengthening Securities and Futures Knowledge Popularization Education” jointly issued by the CSRC and the Ministry of Education. It invited teams from Nankai University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Hunan University, and
Xiamen University to participate. The competition played a significant role in promoting the inclusion of investor education into the national education system, enhancing exchanges and cooperation among universities nationwide, and helping university students establish correct investment concepts and risk awareness.
