On September 28, the orientation meeting of the firstQian Rongkun Top-notch Innovative Talent Program of the School of Finance was successfully held in the “Ningyihongdao” Library. Fan Xiaoyun, dean of the School of Finance, Du Yujin, deputy Party secretary and vice president, Liu Wei, Deputy dean, Li Zeguang, Director of the Department of Finance, Zhang Yunqi, tutor ofQian Rongkun Class, Wang Jinlian, Han Dong, 2023 counselor Zhu Zhixin and all the students of Qian Rongkun Class participated in the orientation meeting. The meeting was presided over by Liu Wei.

Fan Xiaoyun introduced the naming and educational philosophy of the Qian Rongkun Class in his speech. She vividly told the life story and academic achievements of Mr. Qian Rongkun, and introduced his outstanding contributions to the development of NKU Finance. Citing Mr. Qian's academic training methods, she suggested students to read more, discuss more and write more, and encouraged them to be full of enthusiasm for knowledge and strive to be patriotic like Mr. Qian. At the same time, Fan Xiaoyun also placed higher expectations on the new students in terms of school motto,hoping that students can become the pillars of the country with the same patriotism, character, and academic excellence as Mr. Qian, constantly improving themselves in their studies, and practicing Mr. Qian Rongkun's academic spirit and sense of social responsibility.

Zhang Yunqi, the tutor of Qian Rongkun Class, based on his own academic research experience, put forward two suggestions to the students from the point of learning methods. First, he pointed out the importance of setting clear goals, prompting students to make self-planning and actively improve their self-awareness in the process of growth. Second, he suggested an appropriate view of the relationship between study and life, hoping that students would not put all their time and energy into mere study, and allow themselves some time for introspection and relaxation. He also conveyed his expectations that students would improve their practical and innovative ability in the future long-term study and become top-notch academic talents.

Li Zegang put forward three suggestions for the students in terms of cultivating and training their thinking. He encouraged students to pay actively attention to the general trend of national and social development, and establish an optimistic and diligent outlook on values, life, and struggle.. Secondly, he hopes that students will study with nodistinction, strive to build a generous and three-dimensional knowledge system of economics and finance, and combine what they have learned with industry practice, cultivate critical thinking, and form a deeper and more professional observation. Finally, he suggested that students learn to make full use of the rich learning resources provided by the school, with an open learning mindset, and a good habit of peer learning and lifelong learning.

Zhang Yuchi, a senior student representative, reviewed her feelings about studying in the SpecializedClass in the past year from the perspectives of the teaching staff, teaching equipment, academic atmosphere and class construction. As the assistant counselor of Grade 23 freshmen, she advised students not to be timid in seeking help and making a good transition from high school to college; to balance time for fun and study, and always stay ambitious. Starting with the diversified characteristics of the era in which she grew up, freshman representativeYuan Yuhanexpressed her initial understanding of international finance and her learning pursuit in Qian Rongkun Class. She expressed her expectation and longing to join the Qian Rongkun Class, and called on the students to forge ahead, study steadily and develop in an all-round way.

Du Yujin put forward three suggestions from the perspective of personal growth, which inspired new students to think deeply. He first reminded students to internalize their pursuit of study, research, and future development as their development goals, and to form their own internal drive for progress by regularly reflecting on the questions of why this is happening and why do it like this. Secondly, he suggested that students make personal plans and make adjustments and improvements in practice, continuously improving their compatibility with their own development and exploring their life goals. Finally, Du Yujin guided students to establish a sense of trade-off, arrange their time reasonably, and learn to use their limited energy to do truly meaningful things.

At the end of the class, Fan Xiaoyun and Li Zeguang gave books to the representatives of the new students of Qian Rongkun Class. They gave Qian Rongkun's Collected Works to the new students, encouraging the students to study carefully and learn things that matter.
