With the spring breeze bringing tidings and flowers blooming as scheduled, on April 20th, coinciding with the Grain Rain season, the School of Finance successfully held the Gardening for the Heart planting activity in the courtyard. Yuan Fang, the secretary of the Youth League Committee, Wang Xiaojuan, the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee, and representatives from the Graduate Student Union and 10 classes of undergraduate and postgraduate students participated in the event.

Starting with the traditional folklore story of Grain Rain Sacrifice to Cangjie, Yuan Fang introduced the historical origin and significance of the solar term of Grain Rain. With gentle spring rain nurturing all grains, it is the season for everything to grow. Yuan Fang encouraged students to understand planting knowledge, learn cultivation methods, relax and cultivate their sentiments, and appreciate the glory and greatness of labor through this activity, thus experiencing the meaning and joy of growth.

The activity invited campus gardener Guo Hongqi to serve as a labor practice training instructor. Under Mr. Guo's guidance, students learned knowledge and skills such as loosening the soil, planting, watering, fertilizing, and caring the plants. They planted more than ten types of flowers and seedlings, including impatiens, unflowers, baby's breath, carnations, and lavender, in the flowerbed.

The Gardening for the Heart activity aims to organically combine labor education with psychological education. Through the joint support from Youth League branch and classes, students are guided to cooperate with each other, learn and experience a series of gardening knowledge and skills. By sowing seeds of hope, they record the entire process from breaking ground to blossoming, feeling the power of life and the solace of the soul throughout the planting.

It is reported that the activity will also select flower caretakers from each class and group to regularly take care of the flowerbed, take photos to record the growth of flowers, and attract more teachers and students to participate in planting activities through series of publicity such as the regular production of the Cloud Plant Observation Room. It aims to promote the organic integration of cultivating flowers, cultivating people, and cultivating hearts and let fragrant flowers and beautiful minds bloom together in the April sunshine.
