Recently, the "Tutor Appointment" series of lectures hosted by the graduate work department of the Party Committee of Nankai University and undertaken by the School of Finance have been successfully held for two periods. Li Xiao, an associate Professor of the School of Finance, and Zhao Bo, an assistant Professor, were invited to give lectures, which attracted the participation of students from different majors, master’s and doctoral degrees and received good responses.

Based on recent research results, Li Xiao introduced cutting-edge research on investor attention with the theme of "Attention Degree: Investor Attention and Trading Behavior". Li Xiao reviewed the relevant literature on investor attention, introduced the traditional research framework and research methods in detail, and expounded the impact of investor trading behavior on the market driven by investor attention in simple terms based on recent hot topics. The lecture was detailed and rich content, clear logic, strong theory, lively interaction. It helped students broaden their horizons and stimulate their academic interests.

Zhao Bo shared his empirical research experience from three aspects: the introduction of data age, the data classification, and common databases and how to organize empirical research.  Moreover, he focused on the practical databases and data websites at home and abroad, which were classified according to two data types of personal behavior and business transactions. In addition, Zotero, Endnote and other tools used for empirical research commonly were also shared. The witty and detailed explanation made the whole lecture interactive. Finally, Zhao Bo encouraged the students to be creative and willing to explore new ideas.

Relying on the resources of young returnee teachers, the School of Finance also organizes "returnee Tutor Tea Party" and other special activities, aiming to help students broaden their international vision, improve their academic quality, stimulate their interest in academic research and cultivate their academic innovation ability, thus creating a strong academic atmosphere in the college. In the future, we will also hold "Doctoral Director Forum", "JinyingMeta" exchange and "Stone of Other Mountains" peer sharing, and strive to fully cover, feature, and normalize the postgraduate innovation forum and study style construction activities.
