Recently, the Graduate Student Union and the Career Development Center of the School of Finance jointly launched the teacher-student exchange theme activity, called "returning tutors’ tea party of "tutors’ appointment", which aims to create a platform for zero-distance and in-depth communication between professors and students, and also create a wonderful and positive academic cultural atmosphere. The main speakers of this issue are Ge Shuyi, Huang Haitao, Li Xiangliang and Zhang Xiaolin. They shared their life experience of studying overseas with and jointly explored the academic frontier.
Based on this issue, Li Xiangliang talked about his experience after graduation, focusing on the importance of recommendation letters for applying for further study schools and the importance of interest for academic research. Zhang Xiaolin started from her experience of studying abroad during her undergraduate years, shared her experience of preparing for studying abroad during her junior and senior years and assisting in her graduate studies, and stressed the importance of finding interested teachers. Starting from her own experience in applying to study in the UK, Ge Shuyi shared the notes for each step of the application process and the corresponding application preferences of different application programs. Starting from his high school experience, Huang talked about his original intention and unique experience of studying abroad, stressing the importance of putting dreams into practice.
Afterwards, Li xiangliang emphasized the importance of competition to market vitality, and analyzed the domestic and international doctoral decision from the perspective of cost and benefit. Starting from her personal experience, Ge Shuyi talked about the differences in training modes of different regions and overseas study programs, the help for job hunting, and the differences between statistics and measurement. Huang Haitao started from the motivation of pursuing a doctoral degree and talked about his cognition of pursuing a doctoral degree.
During the activity, the students actively asked questions about what they were interested in.
The responses of the teachers to their questions further helped clarify their choice direction, broadened their international horizon and improved their academic quality.
