Tianjin Municipal Education Commission recently announced the evaluation results of the 2021 Tianjin Municipal Teaching Team and the 15th Tianjin University Teaching Teacher Award. Professor Fan Xiaoyun of our school won the award.

Professor Fan Xiaoyun is the expert of the State Council Special Allowance and the New Century Excellent Talent of the Ministry of Education. She concurrently serves as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an executive committee member of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, a member of the National Financial Professional Degree Postgraduate Education Steering Committee, and the director of the Course Quality Committee of the China Financial Education Golden Course Alliance.

She loves education, sticks to the front line of teaching for a long time, and takes the initiative to undertake the teaching tasks of basic undergraduate courses. She has been awarded the Advanced Individual of Tianjin Education System Teaching Staff Vanguard Post, Tianjin May 1 Labor Medal, Outstanding Teacher of Nankai University, leader of Excellent Teaching Team of Nankai University and other honors. The course, "International Finance", taught by her has always been one of the most popular courses among students, and has been rated as National Excellent Course and National Excellent Resource sharing course. In 2020, it was rated as the first batch of national offline first-class undergraduate courses.

Professor Fan Xiaoyun worked hard to explore the laws of education and teaching. She has made outstanding achievements in leading the reform of teaching content, methods and means, innovating curriculum materials and teaching models, and establishing a reasonable teaching echelon. Professor Fan Xiaoyun also won the first batch of "New Liberal Arts Research and Reform Practice Project" approved by the Ministry of Education, presided over the completion of the key project of Education reform of Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, and was rated as outstanding. She constantly improves the breadth and depth of the courses and increases the challenge of the courses. In the international finance class, she organizes students to conduct research and discussion on the content of national financial security and interests and inspires students to learn about new theories and new phenomena in the field of international finance. She closely combines knowledge transfer with value shaping and ability improvement. In 2020, the teaching reform project she presided over won the first prize of Nankai University Excellent Teaching Achievement Award. In 2021, Professor Fan Xiaoyun won the first prize in the First Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition of Nankai University. In the same year, the textbook "International Finance" edited by her was rated as the excellent textbook of Ideology and Politics in the first Tianjin Course.

She constantly innovates teaching methods and means by using intelligent teaching tools as well as integrating offline and online resources. The resource sharing course of International Finance taught by her has been studied by nearly 40,000 people on aicourse.com. Since the launch of moocs in autumn 2019, about 40 universities, 200 teaching classes and 10,000 people have studied international finance, which has been listed in the "TOP100 professional courses of double first-class universities" in consecutive years.

While intensively plowing majors, teaching, and educating people, Professor Fan Xiaoyun has always paid attention to the country's major economic and social needs and people's livelihood, and has achieved outstanding academic research and social services. She has been conducting research in the fields of international finance, financial systemic risk, and financial technology for a long time. She has published more than 70 papers in high-level domestic and foreign journals such as PBFJ, Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control, Economic Research, Economic Quarterly, World Economy, Financial Research, etc. She has published nearly 20 monographs, books, and textbooks such as "Financial Security and Risk Control in China's Financial Reform", "Behind the Prosperity: The Essence, Measurement and Management of Financial Systemic Risks". She has won many national, provincial, and ministerial awards such as the National Outstanding Financial Paper Award, the Tianjin Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, and the Tianjin Outstanding Research Achievement Award. As the chief expert, Professor Fan Xiaoyun presided over the major project of the National Social Science Fund "Research on my country's Systematic Financial Risk Prevention System Based on Structural Data Analysis". She presided over and completed the "Research on global Financial Crisis and Reform of International Monetary and Financial System", a major research project of philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education; She presided over, completed, and released China's first financial systemic risk index system. Professor Fan Xiaoyun provides advice and suggestions on financial risk prevention and control, financial support for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation ecosystem construction, and financial leasing development. Many of her proposals have been listed as key proposals of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Tianjin Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. She has been approved by the central and provincial and ministerial leaders for many times and won the first prize of the Excellent Achievement in Political Participation and Deliberation of the Democratic Progressive Central Committee.
