On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Master’s degree education in Finance in China and the 6th anniversary of the founding of the School of Finance in Nankai University, the School of Finance, together with the Department of Management and Economics, Tianjin University and the School of Finance, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, held the "new stage, new development and new decade" Financial Education Forum on June 16.

More than 30 members of the National steering Committee for Professional Degrees in Finance, the Finance Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and Financial discipline leaders, attended the forum, including people who from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Tongji University, Xiamen University, Shandong University, Tianjin University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Hunan University, Southeast University, Qingdao University, Capital University of Economics and Business, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Beijing Industrial and Commercial University, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics and other universities. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Fan Xiaoyun, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Finance, Nankai University.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Xinsheng, Vice President of Nankai University, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Nankai University. He warmly welcomed the well-known experts in finance to Nankai University for academic exchange and discussion, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the universities for their strong support for the construction of Nankai financial discipline.

In the keynote speech of the forum, Zhang Wei, Former Minister and Chair Professor of the Department of Management and Economics of Tianjin University, explained the concept, content, teaching structure and methods of this new program, as well as the experience of the construction of new engineering, to teachers and students present.

Starting from the idea of "promoting through evaluation" in educational program, Professor Lu Jun, the member of the National steering Committee for Professional Degrees in Finance and President of Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University, discussed the development opportunities and main challenges faced by the current master education of finance major, and put forward effective measures to handle it.

Professor Zhu Xinrong, member of the National steering Committee for Professional Degrees in Finance and Director of Hubei Finance Research Center, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, shared her opinion on the underlying logical reconstruction of the "Sinicization" of finance education and Chain’s contribution to the world.

Professor Hu Jinyan, Deputy Director of the Teaching Steering Committee of finance major of the Ministry of Education and Secretary of the Party Committee of Qingdao University, started from the impact on higher education brought by Internet and the advantages of college education, deeply analyzed the problems existing in the traditional education. Based on this, he put forward opinions and suggestions on key issues such as how to improve teaching ideas and the reform of traditional teaching mode. 

Wang Aijian, Former Vice President of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Zhujiang Chair Professor, put forward a series of enlightening new views on the logical system of first-class graduate education reform based on the internal requirements of graduate education reform and development in the new era and the practical experience of education management of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics.

Professor Zhang Qiaoyun, member of the National steering Committee for Professional Degrees in Finance, Executive Dean of the School of Finance, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, had a wonderful sharing on the system designed to control the quality of the master's thesis of finance.

There were three more conference in this forum. There was a heated discussion on the theme of "financial discipline construction and development", "evaluation system of financial professionals in the new era" and "construction of teaching content system, construction and prospect of teachers' team in finance" among Professor Fang Ying, assistant to the President of Xiamen University and President of the graduate school, Professor Zhong Ninghua, Director of the Department of Economics and Finance of Tongji University, Professor Wu Wenfeng, member of the National steering  Committee for Professional Degrees in Finance and Vice President of Antai School of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Pan Min, member of the National Steering Committee for graduate education of Finance degree , Dean of the School of Finance and Statistics, Hunan University, Professor Yin Zhichao, Dean of the School of Finance, Capital University of Economics and Trade, Professor Tang Ke, Director of the Institute of Economics of Tsinghua University, Professor Liu Xiaoxing, Director of the Department of Finance, Southeast University, Professor Peng Hongfeng, Dean of the School of Finance, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Xiong Xiong, Deputy Director of the Department of Management and Economics of Tianjin University, Professor Cui Jianjun of Xi'an Jiaotong University, member of the National steering  Committee for Professional Degrees in Finance, Professor Li Qianxiang, Dean of the School of Finance, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, and He Qing, the Professor of School of Finance, Nankai University. The three round table forums were held by Professor Liu Liya, member of the National Steering Committee for graduate education of Finance Degree and Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Finance, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Professor Li Zhisheng, member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Finance Major of the Ministry of Education and Assistant to the President of Zhongnan University of economics and law, and Professor Cao Tingqiu, Dean of the school of economics of Shandong University, member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Finance Major of the Ministry of Education .

This activity was jointly organized by the School of Finance, Nankai University, the Department of Management and Economics of Tianjin University and the School of Finance, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics. During the forum, representatives of the three parties introduced their own characteristics, practices, and advantages in financial postgraduate education. Based on the reform of financial education in the new era, experts and scholars in the financial discipline of colleges and universities exchanged ideas, and provided many useful suggestions for the future development of master's education in finance, which is of great significance to promote the construction of financial discipline and the improvement of talent training quality in the new era.
